SUMMARY:Speaker Series: June 12th Dr. Nicolette Grant Presents "The Lived Experiences of International Dual Language Immersion Teachers Working in North Carolina"
DESCRIPTION:Substantial longitudinal research indicated that well-implemented dual language immersion programs are highly effective instructional models for multilingual learners (Thomas and Collier\, 2017). With the increased popularity of these programs and a shortage of certified educators across the United States\, securing bilingual teachers is challenging. This presentation shares the findings from a qualitative study of seven international Latinx teachers in North Carolina and provides recommendations for the onboarding and retention practices. \nPlease register in advance!
