In May, Mariana Castro, Qualitative Research Director for the Multilingual Learning Research Center at the University of Wisconsin Madison, joined education leaders at the Every Day Counts Summit hosted at the White House.
She gave a presentation about comprehensive approaches to engaging English learners in learning, developing two-way partnerships with families and community, and creating extended opportunities beyond the classroom walls.
She also co-facilitated a discussion on challenges and solutions in the implementation of such approaches.
